Reflection

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." – Rev 1:8

As we stand at the threshold of a New Year we can draw comfort and assurance that Jesus Christ is the timeless “Alpha and Omega” or in Hebrew, the “Aleph” and the “Tau”.

It is assuring—indefinitely so—to know when we stand with him, we stand in him from eternity to eternity. In Christ, Genesis, the Alpha of the Old Testament, and Revelation, the Omega of the New Testament, meet together: the last book presenting to us man and God reconciled in Paradise, as the first book presented man at the beginning innocent and in God’s favor in Paradise.

Jesus is from the beginning, Jesus is the end. Let him increase and you decrease, until he be perfectly formed in you.
