Moriah Childcare and Development Centre (MCCDC), a distinct centre with a homely environment, operates both an infant care and a childcare, and caters to children from 2 months to 7 years of age. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated centre leader who is highly motivated and demonstrates the ability to effectively manage, motivate, and develop a centre of excellence. Reporting to the Childcare Management Committee (CMC), the Principal has overall responsibility for the Childcare Centre, including the holistic development and nurture of the teachers and children, the formulation and execution of strategic directions, policies, financial matters, statutory compliance and the day-to-day operations of the centre.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review, formulate and recommend relevant and practical strategies for the Centre to the CMC and execute them upon approval.

  • Ensure policies are updated, communicated to stakeholders and complied with to meet statutory requirements, reflecting the Centre’s philosophy, and in line with best professional practice.

  • Ensure a conducive, safe, clean and nurturing environment for the children’s holistic development, including exceptional children.

  • Establish a good and professional Centre-Parent-Teacher-Staff relationship and partnership for the children’s development.

  • Lead in the development and update of the curriculum, including the incorporation and use of relevant technology where appropriate, and develop and train teachers accordingly.

  • Manage the recruitment and training of teachers and staff. Oversee and motivate them to fulfil the purpose of the Centre.

  • Responsible for all Marketing, Enrolment, HR, Facilities, Administration, Financial, Compliance & Audit and Licensing matters.

  • Communicate and work in full cooperation with all relevant parties.

  • Fulfil other Centre-related ad-hoc responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Early childhood education (ADEC-L, DECCE-L, DPE- L or equivalent).

  • Must be familiar with ECDA, SPARKS, NEA and other regulatory requirements.

  • Possess at least 5 years in teaching experience in a childcare centre with at least 3 years in leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy.

  • Working experience with MS Office, and other IT systems such as Digital School Management Systems, CCTV Systems, and software such as Google Workspace is a plus.

  • Be a good servant-leader, mentor, and team player with good EQ and communication skills.
