Dear Beloved People of Moriah,

​

Grace be with you all, I write to inform you personally that I will be stepping down as Senior Pastor of MBPC at the end of December 2023.

​

By the grace of God, I have been abundantly blessed to have been able to serve the body of Christ. With the strength He provides, I have strived to be faithful to my personal calling, that is, to study, teach and preach the Word of God with the principal goal of raising the biblical literacy of Christians. I embarked on this journey about 5 decades ago, hesitantly at first, as a tentmaker, and in the latter half of that timeframe, as a full time clergy.

 

As a lawfully ordained minister of the gospel, I will, if God wills, continue to serve Christ in the church in the following areas:

1. Preach in our pulpits when invited and scheduled.

2. Teach bible study in our Sunday Bible Classes and in any other forum the church may hold for the study of God’s Word.

3. Working with the Mission Committee, I will continue to shepherd the mission ministry for the church.

 

As we journey together in this community of faith, may I take this opportunity to remind you of Christ’s call to hear and obey the Word:

 

“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)

 

Over and over again we read in the Bible that God blesses and rewards obedience. May we, therefore, be found to be obedient in all areas of our lives.
