Letter to the Church in Ephesus

1. The Ephesians were zealous in their deeds and theology. They worked, toiled and endured for Jesus' name. They discerned what is good and evil and exposed false teachers (v2-3). Yet, Jesus holds the lack of their first love against them (v.4). What is this first love, why is it so important and how is it seen in our daily living?

2. What plan of action did Jesus give to the church in Ephesus? How would you implement this in your own life and obey His admonition?

3. How does the exhortation painted in v.7 comfort and strengthen us both as a church as well as individuals? What greater encouragement do you draw from this to recover our "first love" and to witness for him?
